Direct as well as indirect discrimination are also prohibited in labour relations. Employees have the right to equal treatment by their employer, regardless of gender, age, disability, sexual preference, etc. We have built up a specific expertise in this field.

The three anti-discrimination laws prohibit discrimination on the basis of very diverse criteria ranging from gender, sexual orientation, disability, health status and origin to race, religion and trade union or other beliefs.

If the employee can convince the judge that there is discrimination prima facie, the employer will have to provide evidence that discrimination did not occur. Burden of proof is therefore shifted. We counsel employees as well as employers in these matters.

Some forms of discrimination are even punishable by law. Please note: the social inspectorate is authorized to investigate both criminal and non-criminal forms of discrimination. Legal assistance from the very beginning is certainly not an unnecessary luxury.
