Target group
Anyone with a legal background who is interested in an update on alcohol and substance use at work in employment relationships or who is professionally confronted with (questions about this) in the workplace: lawyers, magistrates, labor court judges, labor court, Court of Cassation, Constitutional Court, civil servants from the municipalities and provinces, HR services and social secretariats, FPS WASO, schools (educational staff, management), trade unions.
Program
- 6.15 pm – Welcome with sandwiches
- 7 p.m. – ILO Guidelines on alcohol and drug use at work, Prof. Dr. Frederick De Cock (social law lecturer at UHasselt)
- 7.30 pm – Alcohol and drugs in the workplace: work to be done, Steven Renette (practical assistant at UHasselt & lawyer Mploy lawyers in social law)
- 8:10 PM – Addiction as a disability: protection against adverse treatment and the right to reasonable adjustments?, Dr. Alexander Maes (postdoctoral researcher at Hasselt University & lawyer Reliance Littler)
- 8:40 PM – Discussion and questions session, led by Prof. Dr. Johan Peeters (lecturer in employment law at Hasselt University)
